When properly applied, a nail polish can last an average of 7 to 10 days. But it’s not always the case. Why does my nail polish not hold? Follow us to overview the mistakes that can ruin the finishing touch of your manicure.
1. Forgetting to wash your hands
When you’re in too much of a hurry, you may apply your nail polish without washing your hands first. It maybe a big mistake. You shouldn’t have too greasy or oily nails, otherwise the varnish will have less chance of adhering to the nail.
2. Apply thick layers
When applying your varnish, it is best to apply several coats. We can put a colorless and protective base, on which we will fix the color. Then two coats of varnish and another top coat at the end.
3. Skip the top coat
The top coat is mandatory if you want your varnish to be impact resistant.
4. Skip the drying time
We sometimes tend to rush the drying time. Check gently with your finger if it is dry on the sides before moving on to the next layer. Avoid going to look for things in the bag or if you go to bed, to slip your hand under the pillow.
5. Badly close the bottle
Nail polish doesn’t like the air and if you fill it up badly, you will thicken the formula, or even dry it out. Instead of using solvent, you can put a drop of special thinner to thin it out.
In addition to these, you also need to use professional manicure sets to care for your nails regularly. If you don’t have tools, don’t worry. Check our nail supply store online where you can find plenty of nail beauty products!
